Content Generator is a tool that allows you to connect a content source, often referred to as a feed, to an image template. You can then turn the content the feed contains into beautifully designed images. The Content Generator  product generates an HTML code element comprised of an href (a link) and an image source (img src). You copy and paste the element into your email and the Content is automatically generated. If the content in the feed updates, so does the content in your email. 

A feed is a structured file that lists product or content details—such as titles, names, prices, images, and descriptions—from an online retailer's website, formatted for distribution to various online platforms like Amazon, Google Merchant Center, or Facebook Dynamic Ads.

You can use various different types of feed as a content source. These include:

  1. CSV (Comma-Separated Values): Create your own feed and host it, use Google Sheets or provide a link to the product feed you submit to other partners.

  2. XML (Extensible Markup Language

  3. TXT (Plain Text)

  4. JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) API

By supporting these various feed types, we offer flexibility and enable you to integrate data from different sources seamlessly. Our goal if for you to be able to add your own content source in our UI without the need for developers, customisation or customer support. Of course we can help if you need it, but we want you to have to power to build and go.  

As a minimum, the feed needs to contain everything you wish  to display in the image. Product feeds should contain all product information, here's some suggested fields: 

  • Product title
  • price
  • sale price
  • category
  • product image
  • product url 
  • stock
  • colour
  • size
  • Any labels required (e.g. on sale, new etc)
  • Date added to the feed
  • Product ID
  • Product group ID

No data integration is required when using Content Generator for Email Personalisation. We simply use merge codes from your ESP. When you send your email, your ESP replaces the merge code you've added with the data for the individual the email is being sent to. We take that data, look it up in the content source, run the business rules you've set and display the most up-to-date personalised content in the email. 

That's up to you! You can include as many as you need. If you want to include 8 images in your email, you don't need to create 8 templates and 8 images. You can create one template and then configure the image element to generate as many images as you need for your email. It's straightforward and efficient. 

Launching soon: We have two different levels of animation - animation in the image itself or the option to animate the image as a whole. 

In-image animation allows you to animate blocks within the image template. For example, you may  wish to animate a 'new in' label so it flashes or slides in. 

Whole-image animation enables you to animate the whole image block with a load-in effect. You can decide how the image loads in, it can fade, slice, have a heart shape zoom out to display the image and a whole lot more.

This is super engaging creative design on top of cutting edge technology. 

Magic Layers are data-driven design elements that show or hide depending on the content data and rules you've set. Magic Layers are often used to display design elements like 'new in' badges if the product is new in the last few days, or a savings price if the saving is over a certain percentage. 

Using Magic Layers in your design enables you to create multiple different image variations within one template.
