email polls live votes click counters mood meters

Give your openers the opportunity to tell you what they like with email polls, click counters and mood meters. Collect valuable recent interest data for future personalisation and follow up. Introduce two-way communication into your email marketing strategy by enabling your recipients to tell you want they like and what they’re interested in. The result? A more engaged, loyal audience, more clicks and more revenue.

Collect interests using email polls

Element: Email Polls

Invite your email recipients to actively engage with your content by participating in interactive polls directly in their inbox. Including polls in your emails allows you to gather valuable insights from your customers, helping you understand their preferences, feelings, and interests. For instance, you can ask openers to vote on their favourite product categories, their readiness for upcoming events, their preferred sports teams, or the types of content they wish to see more of.

Use any click data you collect to personalise future emails with relevant content.

Expect to see: increased clicks as recipients interact with content rather than passively consume it. Increased brand loyalty as openers feel connected and heard by your brand.

Email Poll: Client Showcase

Bensons for Beds leveraged Code Chemistry’s Live Polls to drive customer interaction by allowing recipients to actively choose their preferred offer. This not only made the email experience more engaging but also personalised the shopping journey. Once the recipient voted, they instantly unlocked their chosen exclusive deal, making the interaction feel both rewarding and participatory.

The results?

In addition to driving immediate email conversions, the real-time poll results created urgency as customers could see how others had voted for each option, encouraging more participation and faster decision-making.

Click Counters

Element: Click Counter

Showcasing the click count over a piece of content significantly enhances its impact, leveraging the power of social proof.

Overlaying the number of clicks on key content signals to openers that the content is popular and trusted by others. The click count adds an element of transparency and credibility, validating the content and proving that it’s worth the recipient’s attention. Additionally, it creates a sense of urgency and curiosity, prompting recipients to join their peers in exploring the content. By highlighting near real-time interactions, you can foster a community-like atmosphere, encouraging more active participation and boosting overall email performance.

Expect to see: increased engagement rates as people are naturally inclined to follow the crowd!

Over Black Friday, Eve Sleep used Click Counters to introduce real-time social proof and build brand trust. A subtle yellow banner in the email displayed a live-updating message – “Join 202 others shopping right now” reflecting the actual number of subscribers clicking through to shop.

This simple, dynamic element tapped into the psychology of herd behaviour, reassuring recipients that others were already taking action and subtly encouraging them to do the same, ultimately driving higher engagement and conversions.

Mood Meter

Element: Mood Meter

Email success is usually measured by clicks and revenue, but why stop there? Add our Mood Meter element at the bottom of your emails to track satisfaction and invite recipients to share their feelings. Did they love it? Was it just okay? Could it have been better? Gathering this feedback offers a goldmine of insights into how your emails are being received. Plus, transparently showcasing this information boosts your brand’s credibility. It shows you care about your audience’s opinions and are committed to improving their experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find out the answers to the most commonly asked Polls, Click Counter and Mood Meter questions here.

That's up to you! You need at least two options to vote on and then as many as you'd like. The most we recommend is probably 10. If you're using that many the percentages across the answers will be low. Popular options include 2 or 4 answers.

The number of image renders is depends on how many answers your poll or click count includes. If you have 2 answers, that's 2 images.

No just yet. We're working on this as a product enhancement so we hope you'll be able to see this available in the product soon. We'll be keeping customers up-to-date with new product releases and new product features via email and in the platform.

We literally showcase the number of clicks on the image - it's that simple. You can show individual clicks on a specific piece of content or show the cumulative number of clicks. When you configure the tag you'll have options to set this up how you need.

A popular application is to showcase the number of clicks on individual products and the total number of clicks on a hero image.

Yes. We know that you'll need to reset everything once you've done your testing so in the Code Chemistry platform there's a reset option at the element level for you to reset the element ready for your live send.

No we don't. We keep track of the number of clicks but we don't offer any individual tracking. You'll need to handle this using your ESP. You can append click data onto the end of our links, just like you would for an ordinary link.
